House edge on European roulette: 1 in 37 pockets. The maths doesn’t change with luck.

This guide explains how the most common online casino games work, what terms like RTP and house edge mean, and what to check before you play. There are no tricks to winning — just rules worth understanding.

Where the games are

Games are provided exclusively by external operators. Keys Casinos does not offer games, accept bets or process payments.

What an online casino is

An online casino is the digital version of a gaming hall: slots, tables and live games reached through the operator’s website or app. In Argentina, the operator must be authorized in the jurisdiction where it offers the service, and it will normally verify your identity, age and location.

Games are built by specialist providers and offered by the operator, which runs your account, deposits and withdrawals.

Key concepts

  • RTPReturn to player: the share of all money wagered that a game pays back on average over the very long run.
  • EdgeThe house edge is the gap between 100% and the RTP. It is what keeps the operator in business.
  • RNGRandom number generator: it decides the outcome of digital games. Every play is independent of the last.
  • VolatilityHow prizes are spread: rare and large (high) or frequent and small (low). It doesn’t change the RTP.

A 96% RTP doesn’t mean you’ll get back 96 of every 100 pesos in your session. It means that across millions of plays the game tends towards that average. In the short term, anything can happen.

Slots

Slots make up most of any online casino’s catalogue. Every spin is independent: a machine is never “due” to pay out because it hasn’t for a while. RTP and volatility are usually listed in each game’s information or help menu.

  • Paylines or ways to win: the combinations that pay out.
  • Features: bonus rounds, wilds or multipliers, set out in the paytable.
  • Progressive jackpots: prizes that grow with many players’ bets; they are extremely unlikely to land.

Roulette

European roulette has 37 pockets (0 to 36). A single-number bet pays 35 to 1, but the chance of hitting it is 1 in 37. That gap creates the house edge.

  • 2.70%House edge on European roulette, with a single zero (1/37).
  • 5.26%House edge on American roulette, with zero and double zero (2/38).

Outside bets (red or black, odd or even) win more often but pay less. On a given wheel, the house edge is the same for almost every bet.

Blackjack

The aim is to beat the dealer’s total without going over 21. It’s one of the few games where your decisions affect the expected result: basic strategy lowers the house edge but never removes it.

Table rules matter. A table paying 3 to 2 on blackjack is better for the player than one paying 6 to 5. Always read the table rules before you sit down.

Baccarat

You bet on the banker’s hand, the player’s hand or a tie. Drawing rules are automatic, so you make no decisions during the hand. Under standard eight-deck rules, the banker bet (with a 5% commission) and the player bet both carry a house edge of around 1%, while the tie bet carries a much higher one.

Poker

In table poker you play against other players, not the house. The operator takes a fee from each pot or tournament buy-in. There are also “casino poker” variants played against the house, where the edge lies with the operator.

Live casino

Real tables streamed on video, with dealers dealing cards or spinning the wheel in real time. The rules and house edge are those of the underlying game. The slower pace than digital games can help you keep track of time.

Before you play: what to check

  1. That the operator is authorized in your jurisdiction, and that you’re on the site for your province or city.
  2. Each game’s rules and RTP, in its information or help menu.
  3. The terms of any promotion before you accept it.
  4. Deposit and time limit tools, and the self-exclusion option.
  5. Your own budget: how much money and how much time, decided before you start.

Common myths

“It’s due”
Results are independent. A streak doesn’t make the opposite outcome more likely.
“A system can win”
No betting progression changes the house edge.
“Casino is an investment”
It isn’t. Gambling carries financial risk and should only be treated as entertainment.
“I need to win it back”
Trying to recover losses is a warning sign. It’s time to stop.

Frequently asked questions

No. Games are provided exclusively by external operators. Keys Casinos only publishes information and links to operator websites.

No. RTP is a theoretical average across an enormous number of plays. Any single session can turn out very differently, including with significant losses.

No. Betting progressions such as the Martingale change the size of your bets, not the house edge. Over time, the expected result is still negative for the player.

Roulette, blackjack, baccarat and other tables streamed on video with real dealers. They are offered by the operator through its game providers.
