jurisdictions: 23 provinces and the City of Buenos Aires, each with its own framework.

Argentina has no single online gambling licence for the whole country. Each province, and the City of Buenos Aires, regulates gambling in its own territory. Understanding that is the first key to playing only on authorized sites.

How regulation works

Argentina is a federal country, and gambling is regulated by each jurisdiction: its 23 provinces and the City of Buenos Aires. Each sets its own regulator, its own rules and which operators may offer online gambling in its territory.

In the City of Buenos Aires, for example, the regulator is the City Lottery (LOTBA), which applies Law 538 on betting games. In the Province of Buenos Aires it is the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos. Not every province regulates online gambling in the same way or on the same timeline.

Authorization by jurisdiction

In practice, an operator authorized in one jurisdiction is not automatically authorized in the others. Availability can vary by province or city, and operators commonly check where you are when you register.

Operator and aggregator: the difference

Operator

  • Holds authorization from a jurisdiction.
  • Provides games and accepts bets.
  • Runs accounts, deposits and withdrawals.
  • Provides player support.

Aggregator (Keys Casinos)

  • Publishes information, guides and comparisons.
  • Links to the operator’s official site.
  • May earn affiliate commission.
  • Accepts no bets and handles no player money.

What to check before you sign up

  1. Authorization. The site should display it; confirm it on the regulator’s website.
  2. The right site. Many operators run a separate site for each jurisdiction.
  3. The domain. Many authorized operators use .bet.ar domains, but a domain alone is no substitute for checking.
  4. Identity checks. An authorized operator will ask for details and documents to confirm you’re an adult.
  5. Terms and conditions. Bonuses, limits, withdrawals and account closure.
  6. Responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits, reminders and self-exclusion.

Minimum age: 18

Online gambling is for adults over 18 only, and authorized operators must verify age. If you live with minors, don’t share your login details or payment methods, and use parental controls on shared devices.

How to spot an unauthorized site

  • It shows no Argentine authorization, or you can’t confirm it with the regulator.
  • It doesn’t verify your identity or age.
  • It offers balance top-ups through middlemen on messaging apps or social media.
  • It promises results or bonuses with no conditions.

Playing on unauthorized sites leaves you unprotected if something goes wrong with payments, personal data or disputes.

Why the terms and conditions matter

The operator’s terms set out how bets are settled, what happens with a promotion, how long withdrawals take and which documents you may be asked for. They are the contract you accept when you sign up, and they take precedence over any summary, including ours.

Responsible gambling

Gambling carries financial risk and should only be treated as entertainment. If you need help, Sedronar’s Línea 141 is free, anonymous and open 24 hours nationwide. Find more resources in our responsible gambling guide.

No. Keys Casinos is an aggregator: it publishes information and links. Operators are the companies that provide games and betting with authorization from each jurisdiction.
